Amberly Hui Hood is an Atlanta based artist creating work that explores color, memory, playfulness, and culture. In her contemporary rubber pieces, she creates work using a fun and bright color palette while calling on her Korean heritage and the traditional Korean textiles of “pojagi”.
She received her BFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2017 and has most recently exhibited her work at Athens Institute for Contemporary Art, Swan Coach House, Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, and Westobou Gallery. Amberly was recently awarded the Asian Cultural Empowerment Grant.
Amberly is the founder and owner of Studio 23 Atlanta, located in Smyrna, GA, which offers a wide range of classes for students of all ages and skill levels, including a Neurodevelopmental Art Program designed for youth and adults with disabilities.
